In this task we had to take photographs, in which we had to
try and convey a selected genre. The genres that were assigned were Comedy,
Action, Rom-com and fantasy, below are the pictures that we took.
Fantasy
In this picture we tried to convey fantasy by using the
tree. The tree is a symbol of a forest which is where a lot of the
stereotypical fantasy stories take place. In the photo you can see the girl
standing behind the tree this entices the viewer into thinking what lies behind
the tree? Is there some kind of mystical land or world lying behind? You can also see the pair of feet hanging from
the branch; this also is quite mysterious and intriguing to someone viewing the
photo.
Action
This is the action shot we took. It pictures the boy in the
starting position for a sprint race, which gives the impression that some form
of explosive action is about to take place. The picture gives off quite a
serious vibe by the look on the actors face conveying serious concentration and
the way he is staring dead ahead completely in the zone.
Comedy
The next photo is comedy themed. The comedy in this photo is
shown by the boy being put in the bin by the girl, with the girl standing over
him about to shut the lid. This holds quite slapstick comical value and is
amusing due to the fact that the boy is much larger than the girl yet he has
been bullied into the bin.
Rom-Com
We have conveyed the
genre of romantic comedy in a very simple yet effective way, with a hug. The show
of affection between the two characters gives clear romantic element to the
photo.
